At Blues in Remanzacco, in the province of Udine, we strive to offer our customers only high-quality products, from leather upholstery to wooden structures. We do this by using only high-quality materials, which you can discover in detail by continuing reading.

Padding

The sofas and armchairs are made with polyurethane foam padding, a solid and elastic polymeric material with an open cell structure. 


Polyurethane foam is produced in blocks of different densities, which are then cut and shaped according to the characteristics of the desired model.


We have chosen flexible foams for our upholstery because they do not contain toxic substances within the meaning of UNI EN 71-3 (chromium, lead, arsenic, selenium, asbestos, formaldehyde) and meet the requirements of Directive 88/378/EEC.

    Sustainability is important to Blues, which is why in our leather upholstery work we only use materials that do not contain substances that harm humans and the ozone layer.


    In addition, polyurethane is breathable, antibacterial and guarantees the maintenance of high elastic performance over time.


    On request, the foams can contain flame retardants, which are tested and certified according to regulations:


    • Classe 1.IM (Iemme);
    • B.S. 5852 – Part 2 – Crib 5 (Britisch Standard);
    • Technical Bulletin 117 A – D.

Woods

We not only deal with the leather upholstery, but also create the product structure using beech wood from Italian and German plantations. 


We chose beech wood because it allows us to give the structures those characteristics of lightness, solidity and resistance that are indispensable to guarantee a long-lasting product.

    In addition, panels made of plywood certified to E1 gluing class, with PEFC marking for sustainable forest management, are used to define the structural shapes. 


    The feet, on the other hand, are made of solid beech wood and finished with water-based varnish in various standard colours. For their cleaning we recommend the use of a soft cloth slightly moistened with water, avoiding any chemical products.

Packaging

All our leather upholstery products, from sofas to armchairs, are delivered inside corrugated cardboard boxes that guarantee protection during transport and storage through correct handling.


They comply with the UNI EN 13430/2005 standard on requirements for recyclable packaging materials.

Skins

Blues leather upholstery is made from carefully selected hides to perfectly match the design of each model. 


Of bovine origin, they come from Europe and are tanned exclusively in Italy using environmentally friendly processes.


Each leather is treated to give the material that special softness recognisable to the touch and to the eye. The possible presence of wrinkles, scars, grain differences, are not to be considered defects, but a guarantee of the naturalness of the product.

    To maintain the quality of the leather on the products, we at Blues recommend that you

    • avoid direct sunlight;
    • avoid exposure to heat sources;
    • avoid contact with metal parts that may cause irreparable scratches;
    • dust the leather regularly with a soft, dry cloth.

    When you wish to clean your leather sofa or armchair, however, follow these tips:

    • any stains can be removed using a cloth dampened with water and neutral soap, dry immediately after treatment, do not rub but dab gently;
    • use the cleaning set provided on request by our staff.

The Seams

At Blues we take care of every detail of our products, including the stitching: this is an important element because it distinguishes and enhances our production.


In each seam, in fact, we recognise the fundamental values of our philosophy: knowledge of upholstery and attention to detail.


Depending on the pattern, we use different types of stitching: one-needle stitching, two-needle stitching, and edging. The yarns are made of 100% polyester, a robust and resistant material that guarantees the perfect hold of each seam over time.

Metals

For the structures or metal parts (feet), on the other hand, we use tubular steel with a square or circular cross-section. 


Each metal element is finished with a chrome plating that gives the product lustre and durability. 


For cleaning, we recommend using a soft cloth slightly dampened with water, avoiding any chemical products that may scratch or stain the surface.
